We worked with the Winnipeg Real Estate News team to update their website property search functionality, integrating the existing Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) system with Google Maps and Google Places.

The previous site's property search already supported a robust list view. We kept that available, but defaulted to an industry standard map view, plotting the search results onto a Google Map render. This allowed site visitors to find matches both in and directly around their desired search area.

If you're looking to sell your property, you want to present it in the best way possible. And if you're looking for a new home, you want something easy to read through. It's in everyone's interest for a listing profile to be looking its best!

Synced with the Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) system, each listing profile presents a property's address, features, description, and image gallery. We worked with both WinnipegREALTORS® and our design partners to ensure the listing profile is robust enough to juggle all the available information, but also clean enough that it doesn't overwhelm.

Each profile includes the relevant realtors and offices, for quick contact. If the site visitor has created a secure members-profile, they can save the listing into their favourites for later review, and can even compare the listing side-by-side with any other property listing.

A realtor will assist you during every step in the complex process of a real estate transaction. So picking the right one to work with is an important task! To make this easier, the website gives every Winnipeg realtor their own individual profile.

This profile syncs with an existing backend system, saving them from re-entering contact info, pictures, specialities, designations, and all their current property listings. The site also allows them to augment their profiles with a full written bio and an embedded video, if they so wish.

It's about making the right first impression to what is hopefully a mutually beneficial partnership.

WinnipegREALTORS® in-house publications department produces the Winnipeg Real Estate News, the Condo Lifestyles Magazine, and the Commercial Real Estate Magazine. These publications are available at hundreds of locations and serve as the primary marketing vehicles for WinnipegREALTOR® members.

We helped bring over a decade of archived articles online, for all three publications, and made navigating through all the history as straighforward as possible. This includes a full text search across all articles and a year-month navigation, both always available in the left-hand sidebar.

And we made sure we didn't break the existing third-party links out there. A solidly developed and tested redirect list makes sure ay old URLs on the web still found their way to the correct write-up!

As you search and review properties, you can add individual listings here to compare them against each other. All their information, their pricing, their features, their amenities, and their room sizes, the whole shebang. It's all presented right alongside each other, to help you better make your choice.

This pulls synced property listing information from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) system, and put them all next to each other. Not all properties are a one-to-one exact match. You can't exactly line up a two-storey house with a downtown condo. So we customized the tool to do its best, ensuring you see what overlaps and what doesn't.

And this is all done without extra data entry from the board administrators, the individual realtors, or the site visitors themselves. It's a fully fledged comparison sheet that's ready to go!
