Judge Dredd is a british comic creation with a long history. Debuting in 1977 in 2000AD magazine, he's had a regular feature since, acting as judge, jury, and executioner in a crime-ridden overpopulated future. In 1995, Sylvester Stallone starred in a film adaptation that failed to focus on what made the Dredd character popular: gritty, dark, violent, and generally-uncompromising bad-ass-ness! This version seems to be learning from 1995's mistakes, with Karl Urban under the helmet (and hopefully never taking it off this time, as per cannon). I'm crossing my fingers...
